Our Story

Brenda and Bob’s love for fresh local fish comes from Miami. That’s where Brenda grew up with a fisherman father and where she met Bob. Bob spent a summer there helping Brenda’s Dad refinish a large blue fishing schooner named “The Reel.”

 

Many years later Brenda was managing an organic farm and Bob owned a tavern that featured fresh daily catch. When Tropical Storm Barny docked Bob’s fleet Brenda, and The Reel, saved his business.

Soon after the storm they married, and their honeymoon took them to San Diego. They quickly fell in love with community and decided to stay. They wanted to bring their love of local fresh fish and ripe organic produce to the community. The idea of wrapping it all up in a corn tortilla was born and led to the Reel Deal Tacos food truck.
